Let's Talk...Diapers.

Diapers. Nobody really wants to change them but it has to be done. With twins it will be diaper duty double time. Since we cloth diapered B until she was around a year old everyone has been asking what the plan will be with the twins. I still am so much in the air. I would really love to be able to save the money. On the other hand I just don't know if I am doing to do all the work ;O)

This is where it may get boring for some of you...but here are our calculations

Newborn-Average 10 diapers per day x 2 babies=20   (620 Month) $41.95 Pampers NB 240 (20 packs)-2 bulks 480+small packs So about $100

1-6 Average 7 Day x 2= 14   (434 mo)   $44.83 subscribe&save size 1 (pampers) 234  So about $80 mo
6-12 Average 5 Day x 2= 10    $49.39 s&s 222 size 3 So about $60 mo

We are probably low balling it....

Here is my thing we will be sposie diapering NB stage regardless. I don't want to have to buy special cloth diapers for such a short period of time nor do I want to have to do that much fluffy laundry.

We found that when cloth diapering it we didn't get too many "Oh let me help you with that diaper" offers. People just don't have a clue what to do with them and need assistance or teaching...if you will. Even my sister who helps me often with B now was like NOPE that is all you! So my thought is with two when I REALLY will need help I don't want to say no just because I don't have the energy to give a lesson. My hubby HATED cloth diapering. He likes being able to just trash the nasties and be done with it. I agree. I do too. However, I just cannot get over the price ;O(

Then I have to really ask myself if I will have the time and energy to do laundry as well as cloth diaper laundry. My biggest issue with fluffy laundry is that you have to run it through the cycle like 3 times. That puts a damper on regular laundry. And I was getting backed up on already over piled laundry. Then throw in a potty training 2 year old and spitting up twins....I feel like I will be overwhelmed. Heck, I am overwhelmed just thinking about it.

Sorry this blog wasn't really meant for reading ...more or less for me to really put my thoughts on paper and make a decision! :O)

Shaylynn, Mom is all for this. Grandmother used cloth diapers for both the twins. oh how I remember folding them to help her out. Maybe Briggsly can help with this. Grandmother use to wash them out in the toilet first and only washed them one time then put them on the line or in the dryer. I have a DEAL for you. Make a Jar for money that you would spend weekly on diapers put it in the jar every week. Then when the twins are potty trained add up all that money and I want you and Nick to go on a cruise or Ireland and Gammy and Poppie will watch all three of the grand kids. This is a big deal and you will so need a very nice vacation after all your hard work but then you have something really really big to look forward to for all yours and NIcks hard work. Everytime you washed out the diaper in the toilet just remember the prize at the end. Oh yea everybody is going to want to help out Shaylynn and they too will just have to learn how to do it. You are not going to be able to do this by yourself. Love ya MOM
