Pie Face

So a few weeks back when we were in VA momma G made an apple pie...since then I have been wanting to make one! I love her apple pie! It is a perfect mix of tart & sweet and none of that goopy apple jammy textured filling. Anyhoo we headed to Huber's the weekend before last and nabbed some tasty apples. However, since we have been so busy with doctors appointments and moving, the bushel of apples have been moved from Dad's to the townhouse and are still sitting in the floor. No pie to be had. Well I have had 6 radiation treatments so far and I can sense some of my taste buds going into hibernation. In fact I just chugged some apple cider and it pretty much tasted like water with a hint of cinnamon and apple. So, I am thinking that apple pie HAS to be made tomorrow!! I am not too good with peeling things so I have to grow a few extra hands to help peel, core, & slice the apples...since I didn't get to buy one of those cool all in one handy dandy helpers(thanks to you know who.. hmmph)!

We are still unpacking. It has been a rough move. Nick is my one man band...he has been doing everything...from taking care of me to fixing things around the townhouse to painting. I cannot even express how amazing he is. He has been so supportive through all my treatments and the move. He is like protective in a way, it is super cute! He is all like ok babe time to rest, or don't lift this or that, or even babe you can't be around these paint fumes. I had to remind him that I have cancer...I am not preggers! It has been hard doing a lot but everyday things are getting easier and we are slowly but surely getting everything done! I will post pics soon!

Mallorey's baby shower was on Saturday and I was feeling well enough to go! She got tons of cute stuff for miss Kylar! I cannot wait for her to get here! Just a few weeks till I get to meet the lil' princess! They had the most amazing cake from Homemade Ice Cream & Pie kitchen! It was a yellow cake with butter cream icing...I don't even like yellow cake, but I have to say it was the best cake I have ever had!! (yes I am blogging about food, again!)

My mom will be here on Saturday!! I am so excited!! I was really hoping my taste buds would hold out to get another one of those amazing pieces of cake and share it with her! :O) Nick and Em are headed to Roanoke this weekend to bring the doggies home! I have missed my Diesel and cannot wait to snuggle up with him and give him lots & lots of treats!!

On that note I am going to go check out the color of the wall Nick just painted!
