Gayenelle, Chuck, Bobbie, Corey, & Reagan headed our way to celebrate the 4th! They got a late start Thursday evening and were here well after I had passed out watching the news. I woke up to a whimpering Rea Rea & flew outta bed like I had never done before! I was so excited to see them all, even if I could only see them through my half open sleepy filled eyes! We pretty much gave our hugs and kisses and everyone passed out! The next morning I was up and at em'. Corey & Rea had already beat me to it. She was eating her breakfast (oh so cute) soon everyone else woke up and we got ready for our fun filled Independence day! We did the usually tour de' Louisville. The bat, the water, the bridges, downtown...so on & so forth. Then we ate at Ditto's for lunch! We stopped off at the Liquor Barn for some goodies (not to be confused with party favors) and some Absinthe (to our demise). Afterwards we went to my Dad's for the 4th of July celebration. Most of the family was there & it was great to have Bobbie & Corey meet everyone. Gayenelle & Chuck had met everyone except my Mamaw, Gary, & Robin, so it worked out pretty well :O) Bobbie, me, Gayenelle, Corey & Nick headed upstairs to do our 1st Absinthe shot! Now let me tell you this alcohol is just now legal in the US. It has something called wormwood in it that has been illegal for decades. This intoxicating drink is rumored to make you go mad (ie. insane, hallucinate...)haha. I didn't so much feel the effects just the burning black licorice taste in my mouth. Blek. Everyone else said that it did them in including Lisa who had been drinking all day. Haha. Guess I am already "mad" so who needs liquor?! haha We had a great time barbecuing and doing fireworks and spending time with everyone!

Saturday we headed to Frishe's for breakfast and the out to the distilleries! After breakfast since it was just the gals in the car we decided to break the news to Gayenelle about thier Jim Beam that they had at home. Now Chuck had gotten this bottle years ago as a gift. About 6 years ago Nick threw a big party & some people got their drink on. They decided to refill the bottle with some iced tea. So after the boys left the house Gayenelle & Chuck had been trying new alcoholic beverages. One that they were particularly fond of was Mint Juleps. Yes, they were using the iced tea drowned Jim Beam to make them. She when they came up to visit they had got some Mint Julep mix and some Makers Mark & were grossed out by how strong they were, and just weren't as good as the one's they made at home. Her reaction was priceless.
Back to the weekend...1st stop was Jim Beam. Not too impressive I might add. So we decided to make another trip to Maker's Mark since we knew that was way more fun. We stopped off at the Dairy Queen for some Girl Scout Thin Mint blizzards yummo! Reagan hadn't been sleeping well and Bobbie and Corey missed out on most of the your and the tasting at Makers Mark :O( but we had fun anyways. They decided to stop off and get a pack & play for Reagan so that she would be able to sleep and then we headed home for a bit to change and regroup. We got all dolled up for Mike Linnings. Now being dolled up is not needed at this tasty joint...It is this old restaurant that serves fish and it is amazing. We sat outside in one of the cabins and enjoyed out tasty dinner. Bobbie & Corey gave Chuck one of his birthday gifts-a leaped banana hammock.
Tooooo funny!!! We also broke the 100 proof iced tea news to him as well, and he pretty much had the great some reaction....
After dinner we headed home & gave Chuck his birthday gifts! He got a WII and everything that went along with it!Sunday we went to Rally's for lunch and then they all headed home. We miss them already! It was so great to spend the entire weekend with everyone! We cannot wait for them to come visit again!!! After they left we went to the pool for a lil bit but were just way too tired to stay out in the heat, so we went home & vegged.
I will blog some more later...after my boss leaves. HAHA
Love Shaylynn
