Forgiven

1 John 1:9, when we ask for forgiveness, God is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness

My cousin Ashley has reminded me of a few things that I may have been overlooking. Yes, I would like to call it overlooking but in all honesty I believe it is more or less ignoring. I have not only lost my way (again), I have been holding anger in my heart...

It is imperative that we do not hold anger, hurt, or resentment in our heart, because if we do, the Word of God tells us that our prayers will not be heard by God nor will they be answered. This is not because God doesn't want to answer our prayers, He does, but we have to submit to His Word and we know that loving people and helping people is what is best in any situation. Anger, strife, bitterness, hatred and resentment do not produce anything good in our life and it prevents us from walking in happiness. We have to know this, think about this for a minute, when Jesus died on the cross for you and I, at that point in time, we were enemies of Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, while Jesus died on the cross for us, people mocked him, spit on him, and laughed at him, BUT He died for us despite all that. Why? because he knew that by dying on the cross for us we would be able to enter into a relationship with our Father God through accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour. So surely, if Jesus died for his enemies, we can forgive our enemies and pray for them.

If you have any resentment, bitterness, or hurt in your heart toward anyone in your life, it is of the utmost importance that you forgive them completely and then ask God, in the name of Jesus, to forgive you for holding a grudge or resentment in your heart.
