5 months!

SLEEP:
You most definitely have went through what I hear is called the 4 month wakeful. You have always been such a great little sleeper...but it seems over the past month you have had a bit of a regression. Bedtime is around 9 and you have only been sleeping until about 2:30am where before you were sleeping straight through to your feed around 5am. So I go in an put your binks back in and turn your music mobile one & off you go back to sleep until around 4 when you wake to eat.

Naps too have been hit by the 4 month monster, as mommy calls it. You are still taking around 3 a day but sometimes you decided 45 minutes of sleep is all you want but then you are tired again very shortly after. So, some days you get a little extra nap.

You love your swaddle and your binks. Not sure if you would ever fall asleep on your own without them. ;o)

Daily Routine:
You wake up and breastfeed in mornings around 9. Then it's time for a "clean booty" as we say, and we get you dressed for the day. Then you play on your birdie mat while mommy usually hops in the shower. Some days you hang out in the bathroom with mommy while she get's ready for the day if we have somewhere go. You take after mommy & daddy and are not a morning person. Some mornings you get pretty cranky and we barely fit in some tummy time and a book before nap. You usually will take about 1.5 hr morning nap around 11. Then it's time for another feed and then some playtime in the playroom, living, room, kitchen. You love you doorway jumper & so does mommy! I an get lot's done while you "jump" away. You haven't quite mastered jumping but you love to hang there & spin around! Some days we meet friends out, run errands with daddy, or go to playgroup. Mommy cannot wait to add walks outside to our routine, when the weather gets nice!! You take another nap around 2:30 followed by another feed and more playtime! In the early evening mommy has been introducing some cereal before your last nap which is around 5. Bath & bed around 9 or 930.

FOOD:

I am so very happy that I have exclusively breast-fed you up until this month when I started introducing a small amount of cereal . This is a huge accomplishment for mommy...as we had some latching issues in the beginning. You eat ever 3.5 hours during the day. If I pump and give you a bottle you eat aroun 5oz. We are going to introduce just a few baby foods and then move on to baby-led weaning aka you feeding yourself table food. We are just waiting for you to get the skills. You do pretty well already!!

Happy 5 months! It's going by so fast, isn't it?

My dad said to tell you that he hopes you're doing well- I know he emailed you a while back about being an oral cancer survivor!

Your little girl is absolutely adorable!!! They grow up way too fast for my liking. My baby girl just turned 7 months old 2 days ago.
