My grandfather (maternal) passed away on Saturday 10.16. He had been sick for a while but we all had faith that we would have more time with him. He had fallen and gotten an infection that spread through his blood stream as well as his kidneys were failing, all of these things were complicated by his diabetes and COPD.
The day after he passed my grandmother, his wife, went into the hospital. The doctors just thought it was due to shock and her mental state after losing her husband of 53 years. Well come to find out she has the same infection in her blood as Papa. They have been giving her antibiotics and nothing is working. She also has a lot of edema and now some fluid on her lungs. In the past few days she has become a bit more responsive but is on a feeding tube as well as a breathing machine. We are praying that she will pull through this very soon hopefully while we are still here (Briggsley and I flew out to CA last Wednesday to be with family and attend the services & will be here until Thursday morning.) I want to thank all of the friend & family that have sent cards, texts, facebook messages, as well as all those who have kept our family in their prayers!!
