Settling into summer

Summer officially began yesterday...however, I veto that idea and say summer arrived with the firefly's. So in my mind it has been here for a while ;o) I have really enjoyed the warm weather since it has arrived and am looking forward to a fun filled summer with a nice bundle of joy at the end!!

I had a wonderful time in California. It seemed as though the time flew by, but of course I missed Nick. It seems I was home for just a few days before we headed down to Virginia to visit with family and before I knew it Nick headed off on his hike! Aundrea's (Nick's sister) baby shower was on Saturday! We all had a great time and it was so great to see her!




We also had a great time on Father's day celebrating with a pool party and bbq! We always love the summer parties and cannot wait for Briggsley to be apart of it all!!



I also got to visit with a friend that I haven't seen in a long time. It was really good to catch up with her! I cannot wait to really get a chance to visit with her soon hopefully!

I dropped Nick and his brother Corey off outside of Crabtree Falls for their 12 day hike on the Appalachian Trail. I got a text as I was writing this with an update on their location, they are on their way to Spy rock. I am glad we got an update but would really love to get a call, I hope the reception is better soon so they can call out! I am planning on going up to meet them on Saturday so I can see Nick. So I guess it isn't all that bad, a few days without seeing or talking can't be that bad right? ;o) I am glad that we have a chance to spend time apart, it always seems to make us grow even stronger, but maybe not so close next time ;O)




While Nick is on his hike I will be putting his parents pool to good use and hopefully visiting with friends that still live here in Roanoke. I was hoping to go to the beach to visit some friends as well, but that doesn't look like that will be happening ;o(

Well all I can think about is lunch and I need to run to the store to make Macaroni & Tomatoes...so off I go!
