We had such a great time this weekend!!! Nick was able to get off work a little early on Friday, so he was here by the time his parents were here! We sat around and caught up for a while until my tummy just couldn't handle the thought of not eating much longer. So we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for a tasty b-day dinner for Gayenelle. I love it more & more every time I go!! And guess who get's to go again next Friday with the girls?! YUP. That would be this very happy girl!! Later that evening we played a pretty memorable game of progressive gin! We had a great time...even though I MAJORLY bombed!!! Oh well it was a great game none the less ;o)
Saturday after making breakfast we headed on a surprise adventure. We wanted to do something we knew his parents would enjoy, particularly Gayenelle, since her b-day is next weekend! We introduced them a while back to a nice semi-sweet wine made by Oliver Winery. It is now pretty much a Grant gathering staple. So Gayenelle had already mentioned wanting to get some as well as some other goodies at the Liquor Barn. So it worked out perfectly!! We headed out Saturday to Bloomington, IN. When Gayenelle saw the big billboard about 5 miles away she was pretty excited! Mission accomplished! ;O)
Afterward we headed to this little town called Nashville to get some lunch. We ate at this little cafe called Muddy Boots. It was very eclectic and the food was pretty tasty!! We all got a bit of a surprise when walking into the restroom, they had a moonshine setup! Of course it was just for giggles!! (I have a pic in the gallery below) Nashville was a bit of a disappointment though. It is supposed to be this cute little town with all these "specialty" shops. If you ask me most of the shops were full of junk and they closed way to early. Maybe Nick and I will have to try heading up there in the spring or summer when the place is a bit more "hopping." We ended the night with some ice cream from The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen (say that 5xfast)
We are so very happy that they were able to come to visit!! It is always nice when we get to see them!! We are already counting down the days until Easter when we get to see them again!!
Click here for pics from the weekend!! Enjoy!
