Happy Valentine's Day! Many people celebrate today with their loved ones by giving or receiving a valentine. But there is something much more wonderful than receiving a valentine from your loved ones or your friends. It is to know that the heart of Jesus Christ is loving, and large, enough to take us all in and no one need to be left out. Jesus came from the heart of God. He is God's valentine to us.
God's valentine to each one of us is not in the shape of a heart or printed in bright red on a card, but in the shape of a cross planted upon a rocky hill called Calvary. The great apostle Paul declared in Romans 5:8, "But God commandeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." God sent his only begotten son into the world to be your valentine. And indeed, Christ wants you for his valentine not only on Valentine's Day, but forever and ever.
